Abstract
This study analyzed the research trends of qualitative studies on inclusive education for students with autism spectrum disorders and determined their individual levels of quality. For the analysis, we first examined both domestic and international studies on inclusive education for students with autism spectrum disorders. We then analyzed the subjects and types of the studies, the school levels, the data collection methods as well as research ethics. National Technical Assistance Center on Transition (NTACT) quality indicators were utilized to determine the individual studies¡¯ quality through analyses of credibility and rigor. The results demonstrated that qualitative studies on issues of inclusive education for students with autism spectrum disorders have been widely conducted with the majority adopting a phenomenological approach and conducted at elementary school level. The analyses¡¯ results employed qualitative criteria and demonstrated differences among indicator areas as well as between domestic and international studies. A discussion on inclusive education for students with autism spectrum disorders is provided and future research directions suggested.
